Frank Statue in Springfield, Illinois

When you step into the Lincoln Home National Historic Site Visitor Center, pause by this statue near the south entrance. Titled "Prairie Lawyer," it depicts Lincoln as he might have looked during the time he lived in this neighborhood.

The half-size rendition (three feet, two inches) on a two-foot base was unveiled on October 9, 2011, nearly 60 years after Illinois artist John R. Frank designed a wooden version of it. His daughter-in-law Berva interpreted the statue in bronze, which was dedicated to his memory by the John W. Frank family and funded by The People's Tribute to Lincoln, a nonprofit group.
