Lincoln Desk Marker

During Abraham Lincoln's tenure in the House of Representatives, House Members drew their seats by lot, so on December 8, 1847, Lincoln acquired desk location #191. If you search the floor in what is now Statuary Hall, you will find bronze markers noting the desk locations of Members like Lincoln who became President. Lincoln's marker was placed on August 1, 1974.
