Old State Capitol

On special occasions the main stairwell of the building is festively decorated. This floor features rooms such as the Illinois Supreme Courtroom and law library which Abraham Lincoln frequented as a lawyer.

Upstairs are chambers where the Illinois Senators and Representatives once met, as well as state offices. Representatives Hall was the site of Lincoln's 1858 "House Divided" speech and where his body lay in state after his 1865 assassination.
