French Statue in
Boston, Massachusetts
The Museum of Fine Arts in Boston possesses an excellent small version
of America's most famous Abraham Lincoln statue. You can see this replica
of the Lincoln Memorial statue near the lower rotunda on the
museum's first floor.
This bronze work with a dark brown patina was modeled by New Hampshire
native Daniel Chester French in 1918 and cast in 1987. The cast was made from
his original plaster model which the Piccirilli Brothers used
in constructing the Lincoln Memorial statue.
